My Favorite Salad

I rarely eat veggies before. Now, I'm starting to learn to love them. Emphasis on starting.

Before, I used to remove the bits and pieces of carrots and cabbage in my plate of Pancit. Now, I don't anymore. See? I've changed! Hahaha!

So, when I recommend a salad dish, it has to be sooooooo great, right? And I found the best salad so far. House specialty salad from Felix.
My favorite salad

Let me tell you. It was amazing! It has a salty but sweet taste, comes with chicken and tuna sashimi, assorted fruits and a lot of greens. Oh, and there were a lot of crispy fried shredded crabsticks on top. It was really great. Delicious!

It was I think around ~Php400 and is good for sharing.

Felix is located at Greenbelt 5.

How about you, what's your recent food find?

Btw, it was our 89th monthsary as a couple :)

What's Your Blood Type?

What's your blood type? I'm a Type B.

Why did I ask? I want to share with you things I've learned from this new book I bought and I'm currently reading, "Eat Right 4 Your Type".

The book is simply about knowing more about the four blood types, the benefits and the other things trivial stuffs. :)

The book has listed several food items that were categorized as Highly Beneficial, Neutral, and Avoid.

Highly Beneficial items will help you control your weight, even help you lose some if you strictly follow your list. It optimizes your body's capacity and makes you healthier, keeping you farther away from sickness.

Simply put, Neutral is neutral. It doesn't do you any good nor any harm. You may consume these items in moderation for additional nutrients.

The Avoid list came in a bit of shock to me because there were a lot of food items that I love, that belongs to my AVOID list. These items are mostly in the avoid list because they produce or they provide lectins, which slows down the body's digestion process and metabolism.

So, let me share the food items that struck me the most. Well, most likely these are the things I'd be consuming in the coming weeks. I'd hate so bid goodbye to some of it, but well I need to.

Highly Beneficial
Meat - mutton, venison, lamb, veal, rabbit (IKR! Why are the favored meat for B's so expensive?!?)
Veggies - cauliflower, bell pepper (not that this list would make me eat this), purple yam (camote! Yey!),
Fruits - banana, pineapple, watermelon
Grains - oats

Neutral
Meat - beef, turkey
Veggies - potato (at least it isn't in my avoid!),
Grains - rice

Avoid
Meat - CHICKEN! (the book adds that most of us have been put under the notion that chicken is better than beef, well not in BloodTypeB's case. Chicken produces lectin....)
Seafood - shrimp, crab,
Fruits - tomato, coconut (I'm not a fan but was surprised to see this under avoid)
Condiments - ketchup
Bread - wheat

So, what do you think? Are you a B? Can you live with this list? I hope I can, I'll try to strictly follow the list. Let's see what happens in July. :)

Food. Food. Food

Nothing but a food post. :)

I had a heavy breakfast, so I had these for lunch. Yummy!

And the next day, I only had coffee for breakfast.
And this huge fish  fillet from Cajun Red Rock (in Galleria) for lunch, at 3pm!

Sunday Brunch

Thanks to BPI's Jollibee promo, we had free brunch yesterday. :)

Promo's still ongoing, so swipe your BPI Express Teller ATMs, and Credit Cards to avail of free Jollibee food items. :)

John & Yoko

I'm not a fan of Japanese food.

But the boyfriend is. So, I bought a good deal from CashCashPinoy last month.

Php500 only for Php1000 worth of food and drinks at John & Yoko.

John & Yoko has a branch in Greenbelt 5.

We arrived 7ish, and it was jam-packed. We were 7th of the waiting list, but it took merely 10 minutes for us to get a table.

We were actually hesitant on using the voucher because we should consume Php1000 worth, and it might be too much for the two of us.

Surprisingly (really, we were surprised!), our bill was Php1200++. We shouldn't have ordered the drinks. Hahaha!

Here's what we had:

L-R: Ebi Tempura, Salmon in Wasabi Cream, Fried Maki
I forgot to take a picture of our drinks, but I had Strawberry Yakult, while the boyfriend had red iced tea (kalamansi).

Overall, food was okay. This is considering my first statement (I'm not a Jap food fan). We left John & Yoko with happy & full tummies. Hahaha!

Will I come back? Sure, if someone will treat me. Their prices are not that expensive naman. I just don't like the ambiance, the lighting was a bit dark for my taste.

Have you tried John & Yoko?

Food Post!

My Cebu trip was packed with food! It's hard to travel alone as you are to decide on your own where to eat. It's a make or break thing. If you don't love the food you ordered, you'd have to suck it up and finish it. There's no one else to share a bite or finish it up for you. Hahaha! The disadvantage of traveling alone, huh? :p

Well, I tried out different restos for the sake of trying. Here's a preview. :)

From L-R: Double Chocolate Mousse, Fish & Chips (both from Dessert Factory in Ayala Mall), Chocolate Moist Cake (from The Tinder Box, in Mactan Airport)

You have any dish you can recommend when traveling to Cebu? Oh, aside from their famous Cebu Lechon ha. :)
