5 Things I'm Thankful For #38

It's nice to see you again, blogspot. It's been awhile. :)

I believe it would be a great way to end July with my thankyou list.

1. X. For your patience, understanding, love, etc. I love you. :)

2. Run For Light. It was truly a memorable experience! I seldom join fun-runs, but last Saturday's run was really fun. Additional thankyou to the continuous rainshowers.

3. Ellen Degeneres. You filled my Sunday morning with laughter and laughter.

4. White Collar. Covert Affairs. Royal Pains. Suits. Looking forward to another great catch-up weekend with Neal Caffrey, Annie Walker, Hank, Harvey Specter and Mike Ross. (Oh, I'm sad though that Donna's leaving. I hope they bring her back!)

Please bring her back... :(

5. Brains On Fire. You ignite the passion within me. :)

Yey, got this book from TheBookDepository

So there. What about you, got anyone to thank today? Go ahead, don't let this moment pass you by.

Have a great Wednesday!

PA #4 Finishing 5K

Since I started going back to the gym, I can be usually seen on the treadmill. I do not enjoy the bike and the other cardio machines.

On the treadmill, pushing myself to the limits meant 3K. A lot of brisk-walking and a few sprints.

So, I am happy to be back on track when I finished 5K yesterday during the World Vision Run.

Congratulations to me! :)

PA #2: Finish A Salad

I seldom eat veggies.
You rarely see me feast on a salad dish.
I only eat few types of veggies.
If the vegetable is big enough, I usually remove it from my pizza slice or set it in the corner of my plate.

But things have changed. In pursuit of my 120 goal, I am trying my best to eat healthy. :)

So, this may be a bit mababaw for you. But I am so happy to have finished a full serving of salad for lunch earlier. :)

Cheers to more salad-filled lunches :)

What's Your Blood Type?

What's your blood type? I'm a Type B.

Why did I ask? I want to share with you things I've learned from this new book I bought and I'm currently reading, "Eat Right 4 Your Type".

The book is simply about knowing more about the four blood types, the benefits and the other things trivial stuffs. :)

The book has listed several food items that were categorized as Highly Beneficial, Neutral, and Avoid.

Highly Beneficial items will help you control your weight, even help you lose some if you strictly follow your list. It optimizes your body's capacity and makes you healthier, keeping you farther away from sickness.

Simply put, Neutral is neutral. It doesn't do you any good nor any harm. You may consume these items in moderation for additional nutrients.

The Avoid list came in a bit of shock to me because there were a lot of food items that I love, that belongs to my AVOID list. These items are mostly in the avoid list because they produce or they provide lectins, which slows down the body's digestion process and metabolism.

So, let me share the food items that struck me the most. Well, most likely these are the things I'd be consuming in the coming weeks. I'd hate so bid goodbye to some of it, but well I need to.

Highly Beneficial
Meat - mutton, venison, lamb, veal, rabbit (IKR! Why are the favored meat for B's so expensive?!?)
Veggies - cauliflower, bell pepper (not that this list would make me eat this), purple yam (camote! Yey!),
Fruits - banana, pineapple, watermelon
Grains - oats

Neutral
Meat - beef, turkey
Veggies - potato (at least it isn't in my avoid!),
Grains - rice

Avoid
Meat - CHICKEN! (the book adds that most of us have been put under the notion that chicken is better than beef, well not in BloodTypeB's case. Chicken produces lectin....)
Seafood - shrimp, crab,
Fruits - tomato, coconut (I'm not a fan but was surprised to see this under avoid)
Condiments - ketchup
Bread - wheat

So, what do you think? Are you a B? Can you live with this list? I hope I can, I'll try to strictly follow the list. Let's see what happens in July. :)

Another Milestone

WARNING: This can really be mababaw for some of you. So, if you're not up for it, STOP NOW! :)

Well, this really a milestone for me. Considering I have never been super healthy in the past years. I am super sporty, yes. Athletic, you can say it at times. But I have never been dedicated to a healthy regimen in my 28 years of existence.

So, now with my first milestone. Out of the 30 days of September, I've gone to the gym for 15 times already. And I'm still planning to push for the 19 times, considering I still have the 27th to the 30th this week. 15 times is already enough for me, if you compare it with my past gym attendance. There were months when I missed out on my gym time completely. Or sometimes I had to just run for 10-20 minutes, and spend more time in the Sauna. Hahaha!

Yipee for me!

Now with my second milestone. I ran/jogged/walked/brisk-walked for almost 100 minutes. 10k!!! It's my first time to do 10k. And despite my tired feet, legs, and knees, I am so PROUD of myself! :)
Source

I really can't hide my excitement when the treadmill meter (what do you call that?) showed 10.12 km! Woohoo!

This isn't the end. Even the 30th of September is not the end. I shall continue, until I reach the end of my journey. I'll continue until I can. :)

Cheers to a healthier and better eating habit, and to more active lifestyle. :D

Hooray for the better me! :)

P.S. I told you this is shallow post. But I really hope some people will be proud of my sort-of achievements in the past weeks. :)

Journey to 120

Kakahiya to admit, I was 143.5 lbs., two weeks ago.

Now I value how hard work pays off.

After 13 days, lost 5 lbs. already.

Slowly but surely, para di naman magulantang ang mundo ko.

Hahaha!

Still striving. Kaya ko 'to!

Any tips for my "Journey to 120"? :)
