Best Of Me
I've read all books by Nicholas Sparks.
I read his latest book (Best Of Me) over the weekend when I had nothing to do. I finished the book in two days. Yes, I was reading while eating, on my way to work, before I go to sleep, when I wake up...

I find this book so interesting yet very sad. Similar to his other books, the plot involves the death of one of its main characters. And it just pains me to finish the book knowing it wouldn't be the happy ending I imagined the book to have.
Well, moral of the story, if you love someone, tell them because there would be times there'd be no turning back anymore.

March Books
Another delayed post. :(
Due to super busy schedule in March, I was only able to finish two books.
Both from the babylon series of Imogen Edwards-Jones.
I ordered these from The Book Depository. :)
I enjoyed Hotel Babylon more because it focused more on what service is provided inside the hotel. Whereas, Air Babylon was more detailed in the operations inside the airport.
Have you read any of the Babylon series? I'd be happy to lend them to you if you want to read them. :)
Now I'm checking my book shelves. A lot of books waiting to be read. Ugh, where do I begin? Haha! It's past mid-April and I haven't even gone half-past my first book. What's happening to me? I really need to find time, maybe an hour each day to read books. That sounds nice, right? :)

February Books
Yes, another delayed post. Anyway, I'm happy to announce that I've finished Stieg Larsson's trilogy in month. I was even able to squeeze in the movie adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. :)
Anyway, I loved all books. I was even sad when I learned that Larsson's passed away. Who'll finish his 4th book? As of this writing, it's still under debate.
I liked how he put in the mystery, technology and other scheme-y things in all three books. I fancy those scheme-y types of novels, especially in the movies. Not that I have an intention to rob a bank, but I really enjoy watching movies with robbing/hacking/security/etc plot...
Back to the book, although I loved all books, I found the first book really disturbing. When I watched the movie, I couldn't help but click on fast-forward when it came to Lisbeth Salander's rape scene. Ugh! The image is coming back again. :(
The plot as a whole was really exciting. Bringing you back and forth to the past and present. I just had a hard remembering all the names. There were a lot of characters involved! Especially in the first book where most belonged to the Vanger family.
I am no 'book reviewer'. I hope you weren't bored with my so-called book review. Hahaha!
Have you read any of Larsson's books? I suggest you try to read it now, it may be boring at first but believe me, it will get better. As you leaf another page, it just gets better. :)
Feel free to share your thoughts on the books. Would love to know how you felt after reading the books. :)

January Books
I have read several titles from Melissa Hill. And I can say that she provides exciting chick-lit plots. The twists in her novel are really unexpected.
In 'Something From Tiffany's', she again provides the unexpected twists in plot and characters. Making the whole story revolve around this 'Tiffany Solitaire Engagement Ring' makes it somewhat romantic. Tiffany's may be a part of every girl's dreams.
Inside Coca Cola appealed so much to me because of the 'Philippines' factor in the book. The author, Neville Isdell was the CEO of Coca-Cola for four years. His journey to the position was very inspiring. It really showed that hard work and love for the job pays off. Anyway, Isdell was also assigned in the Philippines to work with San Miguel Corporation. Thus, the connection of the book to our beloved country.
I recommend this book to those who are looking for an inspiring book, lessons on people management, and of course the bottling industry.
In a month, I've finished two books. I hope I can finish more in February. Have you finished reading a book also? Let me know if you enjoyed it. Share your favorite titles here. :)

Places I'd Love to Visit
If you're expecting beaches, tourist spots, the Eiffel Tower, Mt. Mayon, Boracay, and the likes, you're in the wrong blog post. Hahaha!
I came across this website through a friend's 'share' in Facebook.
I was in awe seeing these beautiful and huge bookstores all over the world. They posted TOP 20, but here are my favorites. :)
Aren't these bookstores amazing? It is definitely a great place to see, but I think I'll be having a hard time choosing which book to buy with so many books to choose from. Hahaha!

It's really February na!
I ordered books from The Book Depository on January 1. What a great way to start 2012, right? :) Well, anyway the books only arrived Feb 1. I know, exactly a month after I ordered. I think it really takes 2-6 weeks for items you've ordered online, especially it comes from a different continent.
So anyway, I'd like to share my thoughts on TBD.
(+) points
- they have a wide selection of titles. As in, you'd go gaga and you'd have a hard time choosing which book to order first. (I ordered 4!)
- NO SHIPPING FEE! This is superb considering the books are shipped from UK.
- Offer books at the same price with out local bookstores or sometimes cheaper if the book's on sale.
- Books are packaged separately in a bubblewrap-packaging-material, which avoids or at least lessens the folding/tearing/damaging/etc of the books.
- They ship the books as soon as they're available. So, you do not have to wait for all titles in your order to become available.
(-) points
- it takes weeks/months for the books to arrive at your doorstep. I have yet to receive the two other books I ordered.
- TBD sends the books through Royal Mail, which then sends the shipment to the Philippines. Your package cannot be easily tracked.
So there. Absolutely amazing, right? I have many books to read yet so many books in my TBD cart waiting to be paid. Hahaha! Oh, did you know my birthday's on the 23rd? Maybe you can buy some of the books in my wishlist na. Hahaha!
I hope encouraged you to visit TBD or just visit my favorite National Bookstore to buy some books. :)

I'm Hungry!
I finished the last book of the Hunger Games trilogy series the other day.
Whew! All books were so exciting and thrilling to read that it only took me 8 days to finish all three. :)
Anyway, I am not an English major, and definitely not a master of words and creative writing. I am not sure if I will be giving the series some justice when I write my own 'review'.
IMO, Hunger Games and Catching Fire are far more exciting than the last book. I just didn't like how the story ended. There can even be a book 4. Hahaha!
I loved the twists and turns of the plot. I really had a hard time predicting what will come next. Page after page, the intensity level of the Hunger Games just keeps on increasing.
I am really hoping the author considers doing a book 4. Some parts of the book were left hanging. And I really want it to have a Gale-Katniss ending. Hahaha!
Now, I'm super excited to catch the movie! Here's a sneak peek. :)

Hunger Games
I bought the box set of Hunger Games Trilogy for my sister. I know I'm going to read it soon.
I bought it two or three months ago, I think. And it is only when the boyfriend asked if I have the books (and asked to borrow it), that I decided I should read it first to give a good recommendation to the boyfriend. Hahaha!
I started Saturday morning with the first book, and was done yesterday (Monday). I just can't seem to put the book down. It just gets more exciting as I move from chapter to chapter. I felt like I was in the Arena as well. Although, at first, I was trying to grasp the whole idea of "killing" tributes. I thought the book was all about brutality and all not-so-good-stuffs. Good thing I tried reading more pages, that's when I can't stop reading. :)
I'm almost halfway done with the 2nd book (Catching Fire), and I plan to bring the 3rd book to Boracay this weekend. I can't wait to finish, but also sad to end my short affair with Katniss, Gale and Peeta.
Are you looking for a good, entertaining book to read? I can recommend the Hunger Games Trilogy. Not my usual chick-lit/boy-meets-girl/rom-com book, but definitely a must-read. :)
Oh, and this will also be shown in the big screens in 2012. No huge expectations though, we know that great-books usually turn to blockbusters-but-not-so-good movies, right?

I'm Currently Reading...
Btw, I first encountered Tony Hsieh's book in NBS Bestsellers in Galleria. I hesitated on buying it, I decided to buy another book. It didn't appeal to me that instant. Then I got to read teeyah's blog post on the book, I got more intrigued. So, I bought one from my ever-reliable National Bookstore. (Yes, I can easily be influenced. Just like that. Hahaha!)
Anyway, thanks T for recommending a good read. :)
Any more good-reads to recommend? :)

Current Book
I always use my iPhone when in transit. From our house to the office, or vice-versa. In the shuttle or in the bus. I know, I should be more cautious and careful next time. ;)
Surprisingly this morning, I didn't use my phone the whole time I was waiting in the FX terminal. Not even while stuck on traffic in Ortigas Ave..
Want to know why? Because I was so engrossed reading this book:
I bought this book from my ever-favorite store, National Bookstore. :)
I know I have a lot more to know about Marketing, the ins and outs, so I decide I'll start from here.
I am just on Page 20 (Yes, after almost an hour of reading.), because I am really munching on every word. Trying to understand what the phrases really means.
I hope I really learn a lot from this book. If I do, I'll definitely buy his other books. :)
How about you, what are you currently reading?

One Rainy Night, in a bookstore
(klooj) n. Slang A clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem.
While waiting for the rain to stop, I decided to spend time in my favorite store in any mall. National Bookstore. :)
I thought to myself: "If I'm going to be stranded due to flooding and heavy rains, I might as well have with me a good book to read. :)"
I already had 3 books on hand when I went upstairs (Btw, I was in NBS Bestsellers in Galleria) to check out more bargain books.
Then I came across this yellow (striking, isn't it?) book. Actually, a girl was also holding another copy of it which got me curious. So, I checked it out.
At the back, it says:
I'll let you know if it is indeed a good read. :)
Aside from these books, I also bought the newest book of the Privilege series.
And two of my Cute Sister's Birthday Book Wishlist.
Sayang, if I only won in Chuvaness Clean & Clear contest, I could have gotten these books also.
Stay dry and safe, everyone! :)

How is it that we can recognize photos from our high school yearbook decades later but cannot remember what we ate for breakfast yesterday? And why are we inclined to buy more cans of soup if the sign says Limit 12 per customer rather than Limit 4 per customer? In Kluge, Gary Marcus puts the burden squarely on evolution. It was actually the 2nd line that struck me. Maybe this is the solution to my pity buys. Haven't you been a "victim" of the group-buying mayhem? In mega-tent / super-sale / big bazaar events? Hahaha!
I'll let you know if it is indeed a good read. :)

These got me curious, too. It's in the Science Fiction section. Any idea if it's any good? :)
Oh, I almost forgot. I also bought the latest (July) YES! Magazine

Books
My first blog for 2011.
What do I write about first?
It should be something that I love. I really, really love.
BOOKS.

My old-time favorite, Sweet Valley!

Various titles. Mostly chick-lits. :)

OMG! I so love Kate Brian. That's why I have these Private and Privilege series

Don't you just love Nicholas Sparks? :)

I enjoyed reading The Luxe Series, too. Anna Godbersen's new book is currently on my reading list.
Well, I actually thought of writing about books because I came across my sister's tumblr. She posted something about my books.
So, read more about it there, will you? :)
Right now, I'm reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Bought it recently since I wanted a new book, and got to know about this book from Teeyah.
Do you love books, too?
Care to share what's on your reading list? :)

Books etc
ASTIG!
Love it! I wish I have enough books to fill a small room.
:)
I'm not reading a book right now, TOO caught up with Fringe.
After I'm done with Season 2, I'll be back to reading again.
I'll be reading
It will take me 3-5 days to finish both books, so I might as well ask for your recommended reads.
