Lucky Me!

Modesty aside, I think some of my friends envies my luck in winning prizes from different contests. It all started with my GKNB stint (Yes, I joined Kris Aquino’s game show. This deserves a separate entry.) in 2005. Since then I’ve been lucky to win various prizes, mostly courtesy of online contests.

Not to brag so much about this, I wanted to list down all the prizes I have won the past year or so. I'll include lang the major prizes and few details for other minor prizes. I decided not to include all (specifics), baka these sponsors / sites block me na sa mga contests nila. hahaha!
  • Red Bamboo Spa Gift Card, worth Php3000 (courtesy of Summit Media's YES! Magazine)
  • Free movie tickets from Citibank just by answering their online survey.
  • Premium items (cap, shirts, etc) from movie tie-ins, umbrella
  • Overnight stay in Discovery Suites, Php2000 Cash (both courtesy of my previous employers)
  • Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil (details here) from Ems Express
  • Nescafe Gift Packs, Cutex Nail Care Kit, 2010 BDJ Planner, Cocomo beachwear, among others.

I’ll also list down na lang the prizes my friends have won because I entered them in the contests. J
  • Alice In Wonderland premium items for T
  • A pair of Bronze tickets for Ne-yo's Concert for M
  • Inception premium items for K
  • I Want Romance (Rom-com DVDs, I think) for X
  • Pacquiao vs. Hatton DVD for T (again)
  • A pair of premiere tickets for Twilight, which I gave to Ira
  • Complimentary passes to Ace Water Spa (4-hour massage) that will be enjoyed by X for his birthday.

I hope this inspires you to join these online contests, and be diligent in checking out these websites for ongoing promos.

Thank youSpot.phStylebible.phClickthecity for most of the prizes here. :)

I also got an invite from Marlboro to join TMX last August.

Another P.S.
I got inspired to write about this because I just won another prize this morning. This prize also deserves another entry. I'll post full details as soon as I claim / avail it. I'm so excited!

Odd Jobs You Never Knew Existed

I came across this article the other day.

Just want to share these with you, some may hope that we can find a job as easy and fun as these jobs. Others may find some of these jobs ridiculous, really a furniture tester???.

In no particular order, from Woman's Day

Water Slide Tester. If you love water slides, you can enjoy this job for sure!

Do we have a Coconut Safety Engineer here in the Philippines?

I know that some companies hire Fake Review Writer to up their ratings

Who would not want to be a Furniture Tester?
I would LOVE to be a Professional Sleeper. Same goes with X, too, I think. :)

By the looks of it, even I do not recommend being an Odor Tester

Pet Food Taster. G, are you up for this job? :p
More odd jobs (like IMAX Screen Cleaner, Vomit Cleaner and Professional Whistler) can be found here

How's your long weekend, dear readers?

I Believe.

They say that when you keep on saying things, when you strongly believe that something's going to happen, it will happen eventually.

Law of attraction, is it?

Well, on our way home from the office earlier. Te & I were talking about our future trips (next year, to be more specific). We're planning on a vacation on a cruise!

So, starting today, I shall think of this all the time. I shall imagine myself sunbathing by the pool. I shall practice my map-reading and navigation skills. I shall make major, major tipid (5-day cruise costs around US$1,000, I think)

This will happen next year. Some time next year.

Right, my dear friends? :)

Cup of Coffee

You got to work early.

You're still sleepy.

So you decide to have coffee.

You look for your mug.

It's nowhere in sight.

You go to the pantry.

And there it is, used and still unwashed.

You try not to be affected that someone has used your cup.

The solution to this almost-repetitive act?

Happy Wednesday, everyone! :)

Free Movies, Anyone?

We've been lucky for having to watch 3 movies in the last 2 weeks.

Thank God for wonderful friends. :)

Sept 28. My friend, L, had two Powerplant movie tickets (for any movie) that is valid until the 30th. Knowing she will not be able to use the tickets, she asked who wanted it. Me, who does not pass up anything that will save me a few hundreds said "AKO!" before L finished her question.

X & I used the tickets to watch Wall Street. I wasn't able to watch the previous Wall Street, which might explain why I was bored with the movie. B-O-R-E-D. I even fell asleep during some parts of the movie (Well, I know this won't surprise some of my darling friends). Good thing we watched this for free. :)

Sept 5. M, my closest guy officemate had 2 premiere tickets for Eat, Pray, Love (EPL). He didn't want to watch it because he thinks it's a chick flick. Or that it might bore him to death. So, he gave it to me.

It was again X, who accompanied me to the premiere. He agreed to watch this with me because it's free. I know he didn't want to pay for an EPL ticket. Hahaha! I was kind of hesitant to watch the movie also because I was able to read the book. I got engrossed with the "Eat" and "Pray" parts of the book but found the "Love" part a bit dragging (this came as a surprise because I thought the love part would be the most fun and easy-to-read part for me). So, I wasn't expecting too much from the movie. You can say I was relieved when the credits were rolling because it was the longest 2.5 hours in my life. Yes, I admit, I fell asleep again in some parts.

My best friend, J, I think looks forward to the start of the month to download Nokia's OVI application. Why? Because if we download, we get to watch their featured film for free. In Greenbelt 3's MyCinema, no less.

October 9. We were surprised that only the 4 of us were inside the 50-seater cinema. Is Charlie St. Cloud really not a watch-able film that no one would dare watch even if it's FREE? We just let time pass, and it's as if nothing happened. We didn't even talk about the movie over our quick dinner. Was it really that bad? Hahaha!

Just wanted to share my latest movie treats. In case you have tickets to give away, you now know who you can share it with. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, dears.

P.S. My best friend, J, is insisting that I fell asleep during Charlie St. Cloud. I don't know, I was quite sure I was wide awake the whole time (well, trying so hard to keep my eyes open). What it is with movies and me sleeping? ;)

Why Do Weekends Last?

It's Sunday once again. Sunday afternoon to be exact.

This is my most unlikeable time of the week because it just means that Monday is only a few hours away.

I love weekends. This gives me time to relax a bit, to catch up on my downloaded TV series, to watch more TV, to cook (that reminds me, I haven't cooked a decent dish for quite some time now), to play with Peanut, to go on a date with X, to try to write a blog, and definitely a lot more things.

Who does not love weekends?

How about you, dear readers, what do you love about weekends?

Kiehl's 3rd Anniversary

Well, my post is kinda late because last time I checked Kiehl's Manila facebook page was flooding with wall posts.

There's no harm in trying, so you might want to try your luck. :)

5 Things I'm Thankful For #9

Starting the week right.

By being thankful...

1. Neil & Kat. BKK, here we come! :)

2. Ira. Now I know someone's reading my blog. hahaha!

3. Te. Kahit sawa ka na with my complaints, you still manage to listen and tell me to HIT. :)

4. Peanut. Even when I come home late at night, you still have the energy and the enthusiasm to welcome me home. :P

5. Everyone, who is being patient reading my blogs. haha!

How was your Monday, everyone?

Enjoy the rest of the week! I'm sure most of us can't wait for Friday. :)

5 Things I'm Thankful For #8

I've had one hell of a week. Still, I have lots of things to be thankful for.

1. My friends (our couple friends, J & G). For putting up with my mood swings. When I decide not to talk much because I'm irritated, you don't ask "Why?" or "What's wrong?". You just let me be. I'll try to control my mood swings, promise. :)

2. X. For being so patient and understanding. Enough said.
X & Me

3. October 25. I'm looking forward to that long weekend. :)

4. Vodka-Cherry. My headache remedy last night.

5. My TV Series. You give me more reasons to laugh and be happy. :)

How was your weekend, everyone? Had fun? I definitely did!

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, dear readers! :)

Lip Balm, Lip Care, Lip Etc.

I was reading Tara's blog and got to know a new shopping site (uh-oh!).

I saw this.

The name was super cute.

The image was irresistible.

I hope the inside is as good as the packaging. I mean, I hope the product really does wonders to lips. :)

Can someone give me this for Christmas? hahaha!

Google Map

I think this will make Mr.Postman's job easier. :)

Whatchathink? :)

Vendo Machines

What if these are really inside the machines?

Laugh trip lang.

PASTO Perfect!

One Saturday of September.

Had dinner with our best couple friend.

We just wanted to eat everything on the menu!

Have you tried Pasto? I think you should!

Fruitti De Mare (Yummy!)
Pasto Pizza!
Forgot to take a picture of our Pizza Margherita. Thank you, Citibank for the free pizza. :)

Here's the only picture before we left Pasto.

First, I have to buy a hoody. :)

Let me know if you've tried this one.

Books etc

Love it! I wish I have enough books to fill a small room.

I'm not reading a book right now, TOO caught up with Fringe.

After I'm done with Season 2, I'll be back to reading again.

I'll be reading

It will take me 3-5 days to finish both books, so I might as well ask for your recommended reads.

Well, what are you reading right now? :)

Like. Love. Drool.

Okay, stop drooling.

I can't.

I just love this bed so much!

Do you know someone who does customized furniture?

I want one!

Or how about this one?

So, I can share this with my sister. :)

Who Needs Sleep?

I'm sure everyone in our team needs lots of sleep. ;)

Who wants to sleep in a burger? :)

Hmmmm, ain't that yummy?

How's Saturday treating you? I'm bored.

Emma W

I've got nothing to write. Nothing so exciting has happened to me the past week. I'm not saying my past week was not good, it just isn't so exciting.

Anyway, saw this link in one of my files. You see, I use stumbleupon with the hope of getting inspired to write about something or post some random pictures from the web. I just copy-paste the link and save it in my folder. I save it so when I see it, I'll be able to post it when I have time. Lucky me, I have time right now. :)

This is nothing super special, but I think my sister will love this post. I think she likes Emma Watson. :)
