PA #4 Finishing 5K

Since I started going back to the gym, I can be usually seen on the treadmill. I do not enjoy the bike and the other cardio machines.

On the treadmill, pushing myself to the limits meant 3K. A lot of brisk-walking and a few sprints.

So, I am happy to be back on track when I finished 5K yesterday during the World Vision Run.

Congratulations to me! :)

PA #3 Beauty Regimen

I seldom put make-up on. I'm usually content with the regular application of lip gloss/balm.

I haven't tried facial because I'm scared that if I don't do it regularly, it might be the end of my almost-flawless-face. ;)

Thus, I find it unnecessary to cleanse, moisturize and tone. If I have make-up on, I just use any make-up remover available on my dresser. And that's it!

But lately, due to excessive blog-hopping and beauty-sites-reading, I learned that when we reach our 20's, we should really start taking extra care of our skin. Especially now with the pollution, late-nights, alcohol, and other stuffs bad for our skin.

I got curious when I read some blog posts about the product launch of Pond's, their Age Miracle line. I read it from Tara's and Frances'. I was enticed to try a pot. Like Frances, I would love to hear the boyfriend say, "Wow, you're glowing."

So there, I first tried their Day Cream. When I was almost done with the pot, I passed by Megamall and found out that some of their creams are on sale. I bought four different items. Yes, it was a bit damaging on my credit card but it was all worth it!

After a month of usage, my face rarely dries up anymore even with makeup on. It's also not that sticky. I just wish they offer it on a sort-of-dispenser so I won't have to dip my fingers every time I use it.

Well now, I'm just waiting for someone to tell me. "Blooming kateh" :)

How about you, what's your beauty regimen? :)

*Oh, I almost forgot. This is another Personal Achievement. I'm happy that I have stuck with a regimen for more than a month now. Hopefully, it becomes a habit. :)

Missing You.

Grabbed from Patty's

Oh, I miss you... :(

PA #2: Finish A Salad

I seldom eat veggies.
You rarely see me feast on a salad dish.
I only eat few types of veggies.
If the vegetable is big enough, I usually remove it from my pizza slice or set it in the corner of my plate.

But things have changed. In pursuit of my 120 goal, I am trying my best to eat healthy. :)

So, this may be a bit mababaw for you. But I am so happy to have finished a full serving of salad for lunch earlier. :)

Cheers to more salad-filled lunches :)

PA #1: Avoid Chicken

I love chicken!
I can eat chicken everyday.
Roasted Chicken. Fried Chicken. Adobong Manok. Chicken Fingers. Chicken Afritada. Chicken Quesadilla.

So, imagine my dismay when I learned that CHICKEN is bad for Type B's (read more here). :(

I think this deserves to be my first entry for my Personal Achievement Series.

AVOID Chicken.

What's Your Blood Type?

What's your blood type? I'm a Type B.

Why did I ask? I want to share with you things I've learned from this new book I bought and I'm currently reading, "Eat Right 4 Your Type".

The book is simply about knowing more about the four blood types, the benefits and the other things trivial stuffs. :)

The book has listed several food items that were categorized as Highly Beneficial, Neutral, and Avoid.

Highly Beneficial items will help you control your weight, even help you lose some if you strictly follow your list. It optimizes your body's capacity and makes you healthier, keeping you farther away from sickness.

Simply put, Neutral is neutral. It doesn't do you any good nor any harm. You may consume these items in moderation for additional nutrients.

The Avoid list came in a bit of shock to me because there were a lot of food items that I love, that belongs to my AVOID list. These items are mostly in the avoid list because they produce or they provide lectins, which slows down the body's digestion process and metabolism.

So, let me share the food items that struck me the most. Well, most likely these are the things I'd be consuming in the coming weeks. I'd hate so bid goodbye to some of it, but well I need to.

Highly Beneficial
Meat - mutton, venison, lamb, veal, rabbit (IKR! Why are the favored meat for B's so expensive?!?)
Veggies - cauliflower, bell pepper (not that this list would make me eat this), purple yam (camote! Yey!),
Fruits - banana, pineapple, watermelon
Grains - oats

Neutral
Meat - beef, turkey
Veggies - potato (at least it isn't in my avoid!),
Grains - rice

Avoid
Meat - CHICKEN! (the book adds that most of us have been put under the notion that chicken is better than beef, well not in BloodTypeB's case. Chicken produces lectin....)
Seafood - shrimp, crab,
Fruits - tomato, coconut (I'm not a fan but was surprised to see this under avoid)
Condiments - ketchup
Bread - wheat

So, what do you think? Are you a B? Can you live with this list? I hope I can, I'll try to strictly follow the list. Let's see what happens in July. :)

Personal Achievement Series

To keep up with my positive thoughts these past few weeks (or the attempt to be positive, at least), I want to share my Personal Achievements through this blog. Personal Achievements, or PA, may be a huge thing (like bungee jumping) or small one like staying up late until the wee hours of the morning.

I am not planning to achieve so many things in the coming weeks and months, nor do I have a list* of things to achieve, I'll just do whatever interests me, what I feel like doing. Then if I remember, I'll post it as PA.

*I have my Journey to 120 though which keeps me motivated these past few weeks. 120, see you in a few weeks :)

5 Things I'm Thankful For #35

Hello, dear readers!

It's been awhile since my last decent post. (How many times have I said this line in my past blog posts? A LOT!)

Anyway, I'd like to start my week right by being grateful. :)

1. J. Thank you for being there, always. You may not have given me the pieces of advice I wanted to hear these past few weeks, but I am really thankful that you're always there to listen to my whines and silly stories.

2. The Beauty Department. I want to try this out soon! Fish-tail-braid.

3. Summit Wellness Center. For the ever reliable and near-the-office gym facilities. You'll see me more often in the coming days, weeks, and months. :)

4. Grey's Anatomy. For your season finale, which made me cry. Really cry. I just wish you didn't let Lexie die. You could have chosen Kepner instead of Lexie (IMO). Thanks for making me cry. I realized that I needed to let the tears flow, just like that.. I can't wait for your next season.

5. Desperate Housewives. Another series finale I had to watch. I loved how Lynette & Tom returned to each other's arms. Their "Yes, you" moment was really the time a tear fell. How I wish it was that easy for everyone to admit and express their love for the ONE TRUE LOVE.

Yes, it was a bit of tear-filled week for me last week. I was just glad I didn't watch the series finale of Desperate Housewvies and the season finale of Grey's in one sitting. I could have had a breakdown with those two episodes. Hahaha!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great week ahead of me. I hope that you do, too.

Enjoy!
