Lucky Me!

Modesty aside, I think some of my friends envies my luck in winning prizes from different contests. It all started with my GKNB stint (Yes, I joined Kris Aquino’s game show. This deserves a separate entry.) in 2005. Since then I’ve been lucky to win various prizes, mostly courtesy of online contests.

Not to brag so much about this, I wanted to list down all the prizes I have won the past year or so. I'll include lang the major prizes and few details for other minor prizes. I decided not to include all (specifics), baka these sponsors / sites block me na sa mga contests nila. hahaha!

Well, on our way home from the office earlier. Te & I were talking about our future trips (next year, to be more specific). We're planning on a vacation on a cruise!

So, starting today, I shall think of this all the time. I shall imagine myself sunbathing by the pool. I shall practice my map-reading and navigation skills. I shall make major, major tipid (5-day cruise costs around US$1,000, I think)


This will happen next year. Some time next year.

Free Movies, Anyone?

We've been lucky for having to watch 3 movies in the last 2 weeks.


Thank God for wonderful friends. :)


Sept 28. My friend, L, had two Powerplant movie tickets (for any movie) that is valid until the 30th. Knowing she will not be able to use the tickets, she asked who wanted it. Me, who does not pass up anything that will save me a few hundreds said "AKO!" before L finished her question.

X & I used the tickets to watch Wall Street. I wasn't able to watch the previous Wall Street, which might explain why I was bored with the movie. B-O-R-E-D. I even fell asleep during some parts of the movie (Well, I know this won't surprise some of my darling friends). Good thing we watched this for free. :)


Sept 5. M, my closest guy officemate had 2 premiere tickets for Eat, Pray, Love (EPL). He didn't want to watch it because he thinks it's a chick flick. Or that it might bore him to death. So, he gave it to me.

It was again X, who accompanied me to the premiere. He agreed to watch this with me because it's free. I know he didn't want to pay for an EPL ticket. Hahaha! I was kind of hesitant to watch the movie also because I was able to read the book. I got engrossed with the "Eat" and "Pray" parts of the book but found the "Love" part a bit dragging (this came as a surprise because I thought the love part would be the most fun and easy-to-read part for me). So, I wasn't expecting too much from the movie. You can say I was relieved when the credits were rolling because it was the longest 2.5 hours in my life. Yes, I admit, I fell asleep again in some parts.


My best friend, J, I think looks forward to the start of the month to download Nokia's OVI application. Why? Because if we download, we get to watch their featured film for free. In Greenbelt 3's MyCinema, no less.


October 9. We were surprised that only the 4 of us were inside the 50-seater cinema. Is Charlie St. Cloud really not a watch-able film that no one would dare watch even if it's FREE? We just let time pass, and it's as if nothing happened. We didn't even talk about the movie over our quick dinner. Was it really that bad? Hahaha!

Why Do Weekends Last?

It's Sunday once again. Sunday afternoon to be exact.


This is my most unlikeable time of the week because it just means that Monday is only a few hours away.


I love weekends. This gives me time to relax a bit, to catch up on my downloaded TV series, to watch more TV, to cook (that reminds me, I haven't cooked a decent dish for quite some time now), to play with Peanut, to go on a date with X, to try to write a blog, and definitely a lot more things.


Who does not love weekends?

30 Things To Do Before 30 (as of 10.15.10)

Just updating my list. :)

As much as I want to, I can not disclose the whole list here in my blog. So, I'll just post some.

• Apply new color to my hair
• Travel alone
• Go to Singapore with X
• Cook a 6-course meal for X (soup, salad, main dish - meat & pasta, dessert)
• Exercise. Jog and do at least 50 crunches per day (so far, I'm successful with the latter one)
• Try the famous buffet in Makati Shang, Circles
• Go out of town with my cute sister
• Buy a whole outfit (dress, accessories, bag and a pair of shoes) in one day
• Plan a birthday surprise (I did a minor one yesterday)

• Ride the Space Shuttle at Enchanted Kingdom
• Go back to Boracay
• Go to Puerto Galera (with X, J and G)
• Try Tamilok in Palawan (I'll do this in December on our Coron trip)
• Learn how to clean the bathroom
• Attend a High School reunion (does not need to be a formal reunion, right?) 
• Reconnect with S or D (Done, with D. But I'll have to do a followup A-SAP!)
• Write down at least 100 "5 Things I'm Thankful For" (I did 9 already)
• Buy a designer bag (let me add: OR receive a designer bag as a gift)
• Take a 1-week leave from work (planning on it. hehe)
• Have a my-favorite-movies-marathon for a whole day (My Best Friend's Wedding, Up Close & Personal, Clueless, Pay It Forward, Sound of Music, Annie)
• Buy a new phone
• Save money enough for a down payment for a real estate property
• Sing ONE (I repeat, ONE!) song loud enough to be heard by X
• Learn how to cook Adobo and Sinigang
• Print at least 100 pictures from the past and make a scrapbook
• (censored. hahaha!)
• Surprise weekend get-away. I should drive.

I've got nothing to write. Nothing so exciting has happened to me the past week. I'm not saying my past week was not good, it just isn't so exciting.


Anyway, saw this link in one of my files. You see, I use stumbleupon with the hope of getting inspired to write about something or post some random pictures from the web. I just copy-paste the link and save it in my folder. I save it so when I see it, I'll be able to post it when I have time. Lucky me, I have time right now. :)
